Enhanced colour & improved durability - the new imagePROGRAF iPF8300, iPF6300 and iPF6350 series from canon

Two new Canon ImagePROGRAF large-format printers achieve up to a two-fold increase in printing speed performance

Canon and ArtSystems are pleased to announce the launch of the new ImagePROGRAF iPF8300S and iPF6300S large-format inkjet printers catering to a wide range of printing needs, from poster production to colour proofing. Both the iPF8300S, which supports B0+ (44 inch wide) output, and the iPF6300S, capable of producing A1+ (24 inch wide) output, deliver increased productivity compared to their predecessors, * realizing improvements in not only output speed, but also image quality performance.

The NEW Canon ImagePROGRAF iPF6300S from ArtSystemsFeaturing a high-speed printing mode made possible through the incorporation of a new printing process, the Canon iPF8300S can produce B0-sized output in approximately 1.3 minutes, while the iPF8300S is capable of printing A1-sized documents in about 35 seconds - up to an approximately two-fold increase ** in speed performance over that of previous models - all while reducing the occurence of banding and unevenness. The devices also support budget-conscious printing through such features as a test printing mode *** which reduces ink consumption by approximately 50% compared with that of standard mode - a convenient function when checking layouts or producing internal documents.

The ImagePROGRAF iPF8300S and iPF6300S utilize the new LUCIA EX eight-colour ink system, which covers a reproducable colour gamut that has been expanded approximately 20% beyond that of their predecessors to achieve deeper black expression, as well as increased accuracy of ink placement, and high-precision text and line reproduction. A colour calibration function, a standard feature in both modes, compensates for colour variations caused by such factors as the age and settings of the printer, enabling consistent colour representation across multiple large format printers or when printing multiple copies. The new Canon iPF8300S and iPF6300S allow users to print without changing preferred workflows through support for raster image processors (RIPs) released by such major vendors as Onyx, CGS, EFI and GMG.

* The predecessor to the iPF8300S is the iPF8000S, released September 2007. The predecessor to the iPF6300S is the iPF6000S, released in September 2008.

** Comparison of the new models fast and economy print modes with the previous models fast mode, when printing on plain paper. Image quality may vary depending on the printing mode.

*** When fast and economy print modes are selected. Image quality may vary.
