ArtSystems Environmental Policy Statement

Introduction:

ArtSystems operates from a single site in Nottingham, providing a personalised distribution service to the CAD/CAM, document management and large format graphics and signage markets within the UK.

We recognise that our operations result in emissions to the environment and we take these responsibilities very seriously. It is our aim to reduce the environmental impacts of our business and to operate in a socially responsible manner. This policy describes how we will achieve our aim:

Responsibility:

This Environmental Policy applies to all areas of our operations including management, logistics, offices and procurement. The Management Representative is responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented; however all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Resources:

We will ensure that resources are available to enable us to achieve our objectives and targets.

Objectives:

  • Ongoing compliance to applicable legislation, regulations and industry codes of practice.
  • To educate our staff in relevant environmental issues and in their own roles and responsibilities in delivering our overall objectives; training is provided as applicable.
  • To use energy and water efficiently and optimise use of natural resources and to minimise the volume of waste going to landfill by recycling and reusing materials wherever possible.

Monitoring and Measuring:

  • To regularly monitor, measure and review our environmental programme to ensure continuous improvement contributing to the preservation or enhancement of the communities in which we operate.

Targets:

  • ArtSystems has achieved our first goal of 2009 with Chain of Custody accreditation for the supply of FSC and PEFC certified media from sustainable woodland sources.
  • Develop and implement an Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Gain ISO14001 accreditation by early 2010
  • Market an expanding range of products and services with quantifiable environmental benefits
