ArtSystems Chain of Custody - Certified Forestry Product Policy

Purpose

The manual and the associated procedures that this policy refers to ensure that any product that is purchased, stored and sold on by ArtSystems that bears an FSC or PEFC identity originates from certified forests.

Certified Forestry Products Policy

ArtSystems recognises the fact that forest management can be both environmentally appropriate and socially beneficial when products from an independently certified forestry source are used. This policy recognises the responsibility our company has, as a consumer of forest products, to take all reasonable steps to have a neutral or positive effect upon the world's forests wherever possible.

All paper and board products sourced on behalf of our customers who specify that paper or board must be from such origins will be purchased from either an FSC or PEFC certified supplier and will be covered by a valid Chain of Custody certificate. All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure such purchases will avoid products emanating from illegally harvested or genetically modified wood, additionally products that have their origins in forests with serious social conflicts will not be considered. We will obtain products for our customers from credible, globally applicable forest certification schemes whenever the requirement is placed upon our company.

ArtSystems top management give full commitment to the implementation and maintenance of Chain of Custody requirements in accordance with the PEFC and FSC standards.
